Lessons

I teach students ages 3-18 through West Denver Suzuki Strings. Learn more about our program here. We offer weekly private lessons, group class, recitals, and more!

Adult students in my studio are separate from West Denver Suzuki Strings. They receive weekly private lessons and support for recitals.

I teach people of all ages and experience levels from complete beginners to high schoolers preparing for college conservatory auditions to adults starting a new hobby.

When I was a kid, cello lessons were a place where I felt inspired, challenged, and a deep sense of belonging. I aim to create this same atmosphere for my students at Blackstone Studio. Students will learn a solid foundation of proper technique through scales, exercises, and etudes. Alongside technical mastery, I work with students to enrich their unique musicality through study of repertoire. It is my goal that each student develops a passion and love for playing the cello. I have honed my skills as a teacher through over ten years of running Blackstone Studio, two degrees in Cello Performance, teacher training in the Suzuki Method and am an active member of the American String Teachers Association.

Free Trial Lesson

Finding the right cello teacher is personal. To make sure we're a good fit, I offer a free trial lesson or observation to all potential students. To schedule your free trial lesson or observation, reach out.

Scholarships

I believe that all kids should have access to high quality music education regardless of socio economic status. In an effort to decrease barriers to music education, there are a limited number of full scholarships and sliding scale spots. To inquire about a scholarship, reach out to me.

Practice

Students are expected to practice consistently in order for lessons to be meaningful. A minimum commitment of 5 practice days per week is required to maintain your position in the studio. This can be difficult for some students at first but I will work with you during lessons on what is one of the most important things I can impart- HOW to practice to make it fun and effective.
